Here is a slim core and crystal chamber reveal, with a sliding shield on the side and a spinning plasma gate. It also features pixel rings at the top for very nice effects!

Introduction

  • Disclaimer

GOTH-3Designs cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made by DIYers during their install. You must have a good understanding of what you’re doing, of the components used and the safety measures associated to them. Always wear protective gear when working on install (gloves, eye protection, …), GOTH-3Designs cannot be held responsible in case of accident.

  • Note #1

Always use the smallest wires to make your install easier. There can be big differences between one wire type and another for the same AWG specs. PTFE Wires with the smallest OD are recommended such as those sold at The Saber Armory. A good wire management is also required, routing wires properly helps a lot saving space.

  • Note #2

These instructions will not cover how to wire the soundboard, make sure to learn how to by reading the manual. We have also typical soundboards wiring available in the Padawan Tutorials. Always test your install along the way! Verifying that everything works after important steps is better than having to dismount everything because something wasn’t wired properly.

  • Note #3

3D printed parts can have slight size variations which may require some small adjustments by the installer (such as sanding, hole deburring, … etc). Some metal parts could also be slightly bent, but are usually easily bent back in shape. This is all normal and part of the DIY build process.

Guide preliminary notes

  • The KR Proelium Master Chassis shares the same base design as the KR Loth and Found Master Chassis, with few minor changes.
You will find below the Loth And Found install guide as reference.
Here are the changes to note compared to the below install guide.

    1) The Proelium chassis attached (screw) to the upper hilt, so the upper chassis is a bigger part than teh guide below.

    2) The Switcher holder shown in the guide below is replace by a OLED screen holder. And there are no 2mmOD tubes that connect to the main chassis.

The OLED screen is inserted from the side of the holder.

Installation Guide – Master Chassis (KR Loth and Found Guide)

  • STEP 1: Prepare the chassis parts, weathering… etc
Cut the rods and tubes, then test the assembly.

STEP 2: Glue the magnets, for the cover and side shield.

STEP 3: Glue the 1mmOD accent nickel rods.

STEP 4: Glue the rods and tubes on the top chassis part, using the rest of the chassis as guide.

Check that the side shield moves back and forth without issue.

STEP 5: Install the pixel ring, and glue it on the chassis part:

STEP 6: Install the motor and glue it on the chassis, using the rotating part to check the correct depth:

STEP 7: Manage the wires through the tubes:

STEP 8: Insert the top chassis into the crystal chamber part

STEP 9: IGlue the spinning part on the motor stem (being extra careful not to glue it on the motor itself).

STEP 10: Glue the crystal in its slot

STEP 11: Instal the NPXL connector.

Note: if using SCW clear cap, it needs to be sanded so that the top of the clear cap sits at the same level as the chassis top.

    Don’t forget to test

STEP 12: Install the accent pixel behind the crystal

STEP 13: Instal the plasma gate pixel strips (we use 2 strips glued together – like for a blade).

Then join  the plasma gate part to the assembly (don’t glue it yet)

STEP 14: Install the switches in their holder and glue it to the assembly

Add the 3 x 1mmOD tubes and glue them, as well as the plasma gate part to the assembly

STEP 15: 2 accent pixel strips of 4 pixels are glued on the cover part as shown. Wire them and test them.

STEP 16: Wire and insert the negative tab in its slost, then install the kill switch as shown

Wire the negative tab to the kill switch

STEP 17: Manage the wires and join the chassis to the crystal chamber assembly

Note: each of the 3 wires of the switches plate go into the chassis in separate holes

STEP 18: Test and glue the chassis to the crystal chamber to secure the whole assembly

STEP 19: Wire and glue the positive battery tab in its slot as shown

STEP 20: Install the soundboard and glue it in its slot

STEP 21: Setup the soundboard and test

    INSTALL COMPLETED, ENJOY!
