Introduction

  • Disclaimer

GOTH-3Designs cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made by DIYers during their install. You must have a good understanding of what you’re doing, of the components used and the safety measures associated to them. Always wear protective gear when working on install (gloves, eye protection, …), GOTH-3Designs cannot be held responsible in case of accident.

  • Note #1

Always use the smallest wires to make your install easier. There can be big differences between one wire type and another for the same AWG specs. PTFE Wires with the smallest OD are recommended such as those sold at The Saber Armory. A good wire management is also required, routing wires properly helps a lot saving space.

  • Note #2

These instructions will not cover how to wire the soundboard, make sure to learn how to by reading the manual. We have also typical soundboards wiring available in the Padawan Tutorials. Always test your install along the way! Verifying that everything works after important steps is better than having to dismount everything because something wasn’t wired properly.

  • Note #3

3D printed parts can have very slight accuracy variations. In some rare cases, some sanding or hole deburring can be required. Additionally, metal parts can arrive a bit bent, but are normally easy to bend back into shape. Consult the FAQ if you encounter issues with parts that cannot be solved easily.

Installation Guide

  • Step 0 – Prepare the parts and test the chassis fitment before starting th install. Parts weathering, rod cutting, … etc can be done at this stage.

Step 1 – Install the NPXL Connector. Wire then glue it in its slot.

Step 2 – Install the switches, to be glued in their slots as shown.

Step 3 – Install the NPXL + Switches Connector. Wire then glue it in its slot.

Step 4 – Insert the top chassis module in the hilt. Remove first the switches plungers, then slide in the module until the switches match the holes. Screw back the switches plungers.

Step 5 – Motor install. Insert the motor, then add its spinning CC part on, then push it until blocked to locate the proper motor position. Glue the motor, then add again the spinning part to glue it on the motor stem (being extra careful not to glue the spinning part to the motor shaft).

Step 6 – Spinning CC part install. Add again the spinning part to glue it on the motor stem (being extra careful not to glue the spinning part to the motor shaft).

Step 7 – Install the kill switch

Step 8 – Glue the 3mmOD tubes on the back cover.

Step 9 – Add the CC cages, and Kill Switch cover. Then insert the 4mmOD tubes and glue them in place.

Step 10 – Add and glue the speaker cover.

Step 11 – Install the negative battery tab.

Step 12 – Plan all the wires and insert them into the tubes.

Step 13  – Install the 2020 pixels strips.
Make sure to test them first.

Then glue them in their slots (a dot on the chassis locates the first pixel)

Bridge the wires properly to limit the space taken by them

Step 14Manage the wires to pass into the 3mmOD tubes.

Step 15 – Install the crystal and insert it from the speaker side.

Step 16 – Install the soundboard.

Step 17 – Pass the wires into the channel as shown and put the cover in place.

Step 18 – Insert and glue the 1mmOD rods. The one on the left is insert directly.

The one on the right also get the CC cage door (add the door while inserting the rod)

Step 19 – install the positive battery tab.

If a bit more space is needed, the opening can be cut wider. The positive wires are then bent back into the chassis.

Step 20 – install the aux duplicate switch.

Step 21 – Add the front cover and glue it in place.

Step 22 – Wire and glue in place the NPXL+Switches PCB (glue cleaner is to be used to clean the excess).

Step 23 – Glue the magnets on the battery cover and chassis (cover => 2mmx1mm, chassis 2mmx2mm).

Then measure the right size for the hinges rods, cut them and glue them as shown

Step 24 – An optional pixel strip can be added over the soundboard.

Step 25 – Measure and add the 1.5mmOD rod for the soundboard cover hinges.
Add and glue the magnets on the cover and chassis (cover => 2mmx1mm, chassis => 2mmx2mm)

Step 26 – Add and glue the CC doors magnets.

Step 27 – Wire and glue the speaker.

    Build completed!
