Tutorial for KR QGJ (2023) Master Chassis

A very small Master Chassis but it would have been a pity not to have a Qui-Gon hilt without Crystal Chamber reveal. Using a shorter 18500 battery, this chassis allows a pretty nice metal front!
Magnets:
– 8x 2mmx2mm Magnets
Rods:
– 1x 1mmOD Nickel Rod with 77mm lenght
– 1x 1.5mmOD Rod with 6mm length (included with the hilt)
Tubes:
– 1 x 3mmOD Alum Tube with 71.5mm length

Note #1
Always use the smallest wires to make your install easier. There can be big differences between one wire type and another for the same AWG specs. PTFE Wires with the smallest OD are recommended such as those sold at The Saber Armory. A good wire management is also required, routing wires properly helps a lot saving space.

Note #2
These instructions will not cover how to wire the soundboard, make sure to learn how to by reading the manual. We have also typical soundboards wiring available in the Padawan Tutorials. Always test your install along the way! Verifying that everything works after important steps is better than having to dismount everything because something wasn’t wired properly.

Note #3
3D printed parts can have very slight accuracy variations. In some rare cases, some sanding or hole deburring can be required. Additionally, metal parts can arrive a bit bent, but are normally easy to bend back into shape. Consult the FAQ if you encounter issues with parts that cannot be solved easily.

Quick Install Guide

Step 1 – Gently separate the parts, using a sharp knife to cut the sprues.
The back chassis has 2 parts:The front chassis has 3 parts:
Step 2 – Glue the crystal in its slot, then install the single pixel. The pixel is wired in series with the main NPXL connector. The positive and negative wires will be soldered directly on the NPXL connector.
Step 3 – Glue the plastic ring and install the NPXL connector. The tube carries the wires to the back chassis. One positive wire go through the channel under the crystal to the battery tab, another one go through the tube.
Step 4 – glue the tube and rod
Step 5 – Add the chassis and install the battery tab, using glue to secure the assembly.
Step 6 – Wire and install the neg battery tab (which is reversed on this chassis due to the switch position.
Step 8 – Glue the magnets on the cover and chassis
Step 9 – Add the assembly to the hilt and secure it using the provided retention screw
Step 10 – Install the kill switch and its cover
Step 11 – Install the soundboard
Step 12 – install the speaker connector
Step 13 – Glue the 1.5mmOD rod in its slot.
Step 14 – Add the back chassis into the hilt (it’s secured with the covertec screw), and join wires between back and front.
