Disclaimer
GOTH-3Designs cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made by DIYers during their install. You must have a good understanding of what you’re doing, of the components used and the safety measures associated to them. Always wear protective gear when working on install (gloves, eye protection, …), GOTH-3Designs cannot be held responsible in case of accident.
-
Note #1
Always use the smallest wires to make your install easier. There can be big differences between one wire type and another for the same AWG specs. PTFE Wires with the smallest OD are recommended such as those sold at The Saber Armory. A good wire management is also required, routing wires properly helps a lot saving space.
-
Note #2
These instructions will not cover how to wire the soundboard, make sure to learn how to by reading the manual. We have also typical soundboards wiring available in the Padawan Tutorials. Always test your install along the way! Verifying that everything works after important steps is better than having to dismount everything because something wasn’t wired properly.
-
Note #3
3D printed parts can have very slight accuracy variations. In some rare cases, some sanding or hole deburring can be required. Additionally, metal parts can arrive a bit bent, but are normally easy to bend back into shape. Consult the FAQ if you encounter issues with parts that cannot be solved easily.
Important note
-
This Master Chassis is compatible with the ELF-Sabers AS3 versions from 2022 and 2023,
but not with the 2024 and further versions.
Chapter 1 – Parts Preparation
-
00:00:00 – Step 1 – Prepare plastic parts
Cut the NPXL holder from the main chassis.00:01:04 – Step 2 – Metal parts weathering
Weathering is done using Tifoo Silvergel (Example here) and Brass black (Example here).00:03:08 – Step 3 – Cut the rods and tubes, according to the dimensiosn described on the right of this page in the other parts details.
00:04:12 – Step 4 – Assembly tests.
Test the assembly and adjust if necessary (brass part could be slightly bent and can be easily bent back to shape)
Chapter 2 – Crystal Chamber Build
-
00:04:39 – Step 5 – Plasma Gate and Crystal install.
Install the 2020 strip followed by the crystal.
Chapter 3 – Upper Chassis Assembly
-
00:08:58 – Step 6 – Rods and tubes
Glue the rods and tubes on the crystal chamber.00:11:00 – Step 7 – Wires management
Pass the wires into the 3mmOD tubes00:11:32 – Step 8 – NPXL PCB install
Chapter 4 – Middle Chassis Aseembly
-
00:13:13 – Step 9 – Motor Install
(not shown) Make sure to check that the CC insert can spin freely on the main chassis socket. If too much resistance / friction is present, sand the chassis or CC insert a bit.
Then glue the CC insert on the motor stem (make sure not to glue it on the motor itself) and tests.
Then glue the assembly in the main chassis and test again.00:13:43 – Step 10 – Kill Switch install
00:15:37 – Step 11 – Switches install
00:16:56 – Step 12 – Assembly with upper chassis
Pass the wires into the main chassis and then glue the upper part on the main chassis (using the rods and tubes).
Chapter 5 – Lower Chassis Aseembly
-
00:19:07 – Step 13 – Battery tabs install
The positive battery tab would take the NPXL main + wire (22 awg), the soundboard + (22 awg and the NPXL 2020 accent strip + (28 awg).
Take a particular attention to wires management in order not to prevent the cover from sitting flush.00:24:10 – Step 14 – Speaker install
00:25:05 – Step 15 – NPXL 2020 accent strip install.
Take a particular attention to wires management in order not to prevent the cover from sitting flush.
Chapter 6 – Soundboard Install
-
00:27:06 – Step 16 – Soundboard wiring
Wiring example for Proffie (it is mandatory to read the soundboard manual, other wiring possibilities are possible):
};
BladeConfig blades[] = {

},
};For CFX, please read the manual or contact the soundboard reseller.
00:29:35 – Step 17 – Setup and tests
00:31:08 – Step 18 – Cover magnets.
