Introduction

  • Disclaimer

GOTH-3Designs cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made by DIYers during their install. You must have a good understanding of what you’re doing, of the components used and the safety measures associated to them. Always wear protective gear when working on install (gloves, eye protection, …), GOTH-3Designs cannot be held responsible in case of accident.

  • Note #1

Always use the smallest wires to make your install easier. There can be big differences between one wire type and another for the same AWG specs. PTFE Wires with the smallest OD are recommended such as those sold at The Saber Armory. A good wire management is also required, routing wires properly helps a lot saving space.

  • Note #2

These instructions will not cover how to wire the soundboard, make sure to learn how to by reading the manual. We have also typical soundboards wiring available in the Padawan Tutorials. Always test your install along the way! Verifying that everything works after important steps is better than having to dismount everything because something wasn’t wired properly.

Chapter 1 – Chassis Prep

  • Step 1 – Cut the chassis parts
Sharp knife is used to separate the plastic parts.
Dremel cutting wheel is used to separate the brass CC parts.

Step 2 – Cut the rods and tubes
    (see details under part list)

Step 3 – Glue the 2mmx2mm magnets as follow
8 magnets on the cover will match 8 magnets on the soundboard holder.

4 magnets on the CC shell with match 4 magnets on the booster part.

The battery cover takes 4 magnets, 2 on each side, which match with the soundboard cover and battery holder parts.

Step 5 – Weather the metal parts
We usually use Brass Black, and Tifoo Silvergel.

Step 6 – Glue the following 2 part together as shown

Step 7 – Test fit the chassis

Chapter 2 – Soundboard holder install

  • Step 8 – install the kill switch
We use e6000 or equivalent to glue the switch on the chassis.

Step 9 – Wire and install the speaker.

Step 10 – Install the soundboard

Step 11 – Install the Crystal pixel

Step 12 – Glue the crystal and pixel assembly into the holder.
The wires exit toward the top.

Step 13 – Add CC part to the Soundboard holder, then the rods and tubes to secure it.
Feed the wires on both sides and glue the CC insert / Rods / tubes with the Soundboard holders (use the other side of the chassis as guide to well align the rods and tubes when gluing parts together).

Step 14 – Glue the speaker cap.
12 x 1mm rods or tube can be used to secure the speaker cap to the soundboard holder.

Chapter 3 – Battery holder install

  • Step 15 – Glue the crystal on its holder

Step 16 – Glue the holder into the CC Shell

Step 17 – Glue the CC Shell on the Rods and Tubes

Step 18 – Wire and glue the pixel on the 2nd crystal

Step 19 – Add the battery holder, feeding properly the wires though it.
Don’t forget a wire for the battery positive tab (bridging positive wires can be done on the NPXL PCB).

Secure the assembly using 18 x 1mm rods or tubes.

Step 20 – Wire and glue the battery positive tab

Step 21 – Insert the battery negative tab, the wire can be soldered from behind.

Chapter 4 – Complete the install

  • Step 22 – Wire the NPXL PCB and the glue it in its holder.

Step 23 – Insert and lock the chassis in the hilt using a retention screw.

Step 24 – Wires the switches PCB.
